STAIRCASE QUOTE
PREPARATION GUIDE
Hey there!
I’m Greg, the creative mind and proud owner of my own company, where I passionately craft and bring to life stunning staircase designs right in my clients’ homes. My work is a blend of extensive experience in working with wood and mineral materials, backed by a solid foundation in design principles I picked up during my architecture studies at the university. In our company, I’m the go-to guy for client interactions, so chances are, you’ll be chatting directly with me. Beyond running the business, I’m also in charge of the designs, drawing up all the sketches, calculations, and documentation needed for our Modern Stairs.
How to Order Unique One of a Kind Modern Stairs?
Creating Your Perfect Modern Stairs Together
What sets my firm apart is our commitment to providing a full-service experience as a single company. I don’t subcontract work; everything is done in-house with my trusted and highly skilled team. This way, you always know who’s responsible for each stage of the work. Now, talking about Modern Stairs and what it takes to prepare a quote…
Our first encounter usually happens at construction fairs or over the phone. That’s when you ask if I can come over for measurements. The answer is always YES, but first, I do a preliminary quote based on theoretical dimensions you provide. Let’s break it down into a step-by-step process:
01
Your first email
- You'll need to send me an email with info about:
- The dimensions of the space designated for the staircase, including length, width and ceiling opening. The crucial measurement is the floor-to-floor height. If you have any architectural plans or drawings, attach them to your email.
- The design you're envisioning. Whether it's cantilever stairs, a central beam, or something else, describe to me the kind of balustrade you want, preferred color, and materials, or what will dominate your home's decor. These details help me tailor my proposal to you.
- Location affects the price. Although I offer services throughout the UK, costs vary between local installations and those further away. Share your postcode with me.
02
My first email
- If your email covers all the bases, I'll send you a preliminary quote within a few days to give you an idea of my pricing. After receiving it, we'll plan a visit to your site for measurements, assuming it's ready.
03
My site visit
- Before visiting, I expect a symbolic deposit of £100-£400, depending on the distance from my workshop. This deposit is offset against the final price since my clients enjoy a full-service experience without separate measurement fees. This visit is a great opportunity to discuss your staircase in detail. I love hearing your ideas and sharing my insights and suggestions. Afterward, you'll receive a final quote from me, complete with a 3D visualisation.
04
Final quote
- Quote always lists options you can add or remove, like LED lighting. You can easily edit this final quote. Once the design is finalized and all details are agreed upon, I'll prepare a contract, and a 40% deposit is expected upon signing. The contract will clearly describe subsequent payments, timed according to work progress.
We always welcome clients to visit our workshop to see their staircase taking shape. Located in the heart of England, Nottinghamshire, I’ve been in the UK stair-making scene for nearly 20 years. For interested clients, I’m happy to provide addresses of my projects near your home.
Hope to bring a smile and a stunning Modern Stairs to your home soon!
